Nosebleeds
A nosebleed, medically called epistaxis, is bleeding from the tissues inside the nose. It is very common and usually not serious, but can sometimes indicate an underlying condition if frequent or severe.
Types of nosebleeds
1. Anterior nosebleed (most common)
Originates from the front part of the nose
Usually involves Kiesselbach’s plexus (Little’s area)
Easy to control at home
Often due to dryness or minor trauma
